BREAKING NEWS: "Mix 106.5" PD Out

AllAccess reports this afternoon that Clear Channel Cleveland hot AC WMVX/106.5 "Mix 106.5" program director Don Hallett is out in a "consolidation of duties".

The consolidation apparently involves CC Cleveland OM/cluster programmer Kevin Metheny taking "Mix" under his wing. And as such, the WMVX PD chair will not be filled.

Hallett joined the station in July 2005, after a stint at Columbus AC WSNY/94.7 "Sunny 95".

More details as they become available...

Expect more "layoffs" within CC, as they are holding expenses in 2007 to 2006 levels, no budget increases. Since all stations have people on contract (talent) with guaranteed increases that means that other budget items must be cut.

Gee, Who'd a thunk it?

Now maybe he can make MIX as bland and sterile as he made GAR.

Say what you will....mix is a dog of a radio station. Just listen.
10 positioning statements including "No Rules" then they proclaim a "No repeat workday"
THATS A RULE!!!

Brian and Joe are okay, the rest of the lineup sounds bored. Music is odd. Promotions are tired.

and last I checked WGAR was doing REALLY well.

Maybe After Mix switches over they can hire Kim Mihalik after she gets fired from WNCX. Is WNCX last in the ratings yet in the morning? I m sure this thread will be closed now because I criticized the greatest broadcaster ever.
