Very true.

this is strictly one persons opinion....but they should flip wmji to fm talk....

they have a tremendous anchor in lanigan and need to build from there....including NOT moving Triv from 'TAM......build new...do not cannibalize

No, WMJI just needs to play oldies like they always have been just not so much of the 1970s. Go back to what it was before with the 50's 60s and 70's. Bring back Denny Sanders and Scott Howitt too and enough of this one DJ on two stations nonsense.

OMW, I was watching Fox 8 tonight and saw a commercial with Wayne "If you believe that life is precious as I do" Dawson promote the My Fox Cleveland website. Just an FYI.

You mean Clear Channel hasn't bought the NAB yet?

Good thing WOMC Detroit isn't in this market. They'd blow majic's doors off! You gotta go outside the market to hear how oldies is supposed to be done.

If WMJI is "oldies station of the year" then it is a pretty poor year indeed. I wonder if the people doing the awarding have any idea that WMJI hasn't used the word "oldies" on the air in years!

WMTR in New Jersey is what an oldies station should sound like (not counting the weekend time wasted on infomercials and brokered talk).

Someone in an earlier post said something about one dj on two stations... I think Munch from Lanigan and Malone is on three stations, (1) WMJI, (2)WMMS (I think) and (3) WTVN in Columbus.

It's only on once a week but FM 88.9 the sunday oldies jukebox is what Majic should but could never be,a contributer to the OMW Johnny Morgan is a staff member along with Mike Young from WHK.

Our Good folks, CC, have a great way of destroying the great oldies stations that once topped the charts. Being local to N.E. Ohio, I seen them kill 105.7/WMJI, WBBG/Youngstown 93.3 (now 106.1), 94.5/WWSW/ Pittsburgh. And how about that powerhouse in cincy that was around for a few years, 1530, WSAI. The old original morning show was back and all. CC would never let that station stay on the air, because it played the good oldies. Flipped to Jerry the goofball, ratings took a dump, but CC don't care. Just get the good oldies off the air.
And as mentioned above, when did the "oldies" word become a bad word?
I know many many people that would love to hear the 50's and early 60's back on the air. I say, hats off to Harrold!!!!!!
Even though his tricast of baby stations isn't much, 1570, 1470, and dont forget 940. He plays 5 decades of music. And if you call in a 50's song, they are glad to play it. And 1570/WANR is in HD. Nobody ever mentioned that, but it sounds pretty good on HD, if you can pick up the massive 500 watt/116 signal.
So that little tricast dont make millions of dollars, but I will gladly listen through the night time static to hear it, before I would listen to a CC station.

Thanks for reading!
