It's a sign of a station worried about its numbers and trying to boost a few extra points out of Sundays. In terms of evening TV news, Sunday nights are the most watched news program of the week. Fridays are the least watched because people are socializing and beginning their weekends. Sunday nights are when everyone catches up from the time they spent recreating during the weekend. This is true in all market sizes.
