Their on-line list of market maps includes WKOI with Dayton, in any case. To confuse the issue, though, they identify themselves on air as "Dayton/Richmond", while the good people at RabbitEars.info place the station in Cincinnati -- and I can see WKOI's broadcast tower from my home on the edge of Hamilton, OH.

So, take your choice!emery_rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07870661804526939428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-39347336447823566462009-02-10T12:24:00.000-05:002009-02-10T12:24:00.000-05:00Just to stir the pot and spark a little MORE conve...Just to stir the pot and spark a little MORE conversation, here's an AP news article (found in the Columbus Dispatch) -- its main point seems to be only tiny countries, no bigger than individual U.S. states, have dared to attempt a one-day, across the board shut-off of analog. Guess that doesn't prove it WON'T work, but does make me wonder about how smart we were to think it could happen without huge problems, even with "years of preparation".

http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/business/stories/2009/02/09/foreign_dtv_transition.ART_ART_02-09-09_C8_CTCR2B6.html

Here's one highly pertinent passage from the AP article:
"Turning off area by area lets a country focus manpower and money on the region that is next to make the jump. In Britain, where a five-year transition is slated to end in 2012, technicians will come to your home if you are disabled or older than 75 and help you set up for digital reception, including installing a new antenna."emery_rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07870661804526939428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-62607844046133155012009-02-10T12:22:00.000-05:002009-02-10T12:22:00.000-05:00This comment has been removed by the author.emery_rhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07870661804526939428noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-47586918144852130492009-02-10T11:38:00.000-05:002009-02-10T11:38:00.000-05:00so a few minutes after the newslady reports that t...so a few minutes after the newslady reports that the company has decided to keep WKBN analog on the air until June 12th, up pops a :30 sec spot/promo/other saying WKBN will cease analog broadcasting on Feb 17... there seems to be an internal struggle going on...wd8kcthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06431422526467046807noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-28741523411571516472009-02-10T09:38:00.000-05:002009-02-10T09:38:00.000-05:00WTAP in Parkersburg/Marietta is shutting down its ...WTAP in Parkersburg/Marietta is shutting down its analog on Feb 17!Cursedcleveland.comhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16919083492030461557noreply@blogger.com
