(WJW should bring back the TV8 logo) Ratings will go down whith this new FOX News look and ''Cleveland's Own'' will probably be replaced with ''The most powerful name in local news'' or ''FOX8-News fair and balanced'' Also, how long before Wilma, Andre, Dick and other older personalities are pushed out like Big Chuck and Lil John? 19 Action News might come out of last place after this.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-43813341652436516402007-06-02T13:38:00.000-04:002007-06-02T13:38:00.000-04:00"Fox-ification" of WJW??? Usually that means a very young looking staff... catchy graphics... tabloid style journalim, etc. That would mean jetissoning staffers loke Wilma Smith, Dick Goddard, Dan Coughlin, etc. But... why mess with success. Channel 19 already has the tabloid position. Might make more sense for Channel 8 to stay the course.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-52182699754726206852007-05-30T21:46:00.000-04:002007-05-30T21:46:00.000-04:00Fast Freddie is on the wolf still? I was on the FCC website and seen in the "view legal actions" section that 2 complaints were filed. I couldn't figure out a way to view them on there so If OMW knows a way and can provide a link there that would be great! As far as i could tell the FCC has NOT approved the sale of WYTV yet. According to news paper articles,Parkin was hoping to have the sale done by the end of June maybe that won't happen?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-41458195922908520712007-05-29T12:52:00.000-04:002007-05-29T12:52:00.000-04:00Interesting that the focal point of the PD article...Interesting that the focal point of the PD article is how "music is getting beat by talk" - but while kudos are thrown to Z1079 and KISS on their numbers in afternoons, there's no mention of how they are destroying the talk on K ROCK and MMS in PM Drive 18-34.

Remember back in '02 when O & A had double digits in PM Drive 18-34?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-12207024865060459122007-05-28T20:41:00.000-04:002007-05-28T20:41:00.000-04:00I first heard 93.3 call themselves "The Wolf" agai...I first heard 93.3 call themselves "The Wolf" again sometime last week, but am not sure of when they started (probably around the same time that I first heard it).

On a related Youngstown topic, any news on the 27/33 merger? I also listened The Wolf @ 95.1 and "95 K Rock" before that. It was a great station with a killer signal. I recall an evening jock by the name of "Joe Piano." He had sort of a British accent & had a great show. Y-103 is a top notch station with Classic Rock, "The Wolf" should lean more active since "Real Rock" has a limited signal.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-40003927388253745522007-05-26T13:39:00.000-04:002007-05-26T13:39:00.000-04:00WJW set Changes. Also yesterday morning when they did the alarm clock thing at the end of the 8am show. I noticed a part of the set by the garage door. I noticed one week-end Big Chuck was wearing a Jean Shirt with new FOX 8 Logo. I wonder how this will effect the rating on FOX 8 after the FOX look is done. I wonder if they will keep the branding "Cleveland's Own".Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-36300639021438714422007-05-26T12:14:00.000-04:002007-05-26T12:14:00.000-04:00Y 103 wasn't number 1 WKBN AM was. I had to use an outdoor antenna to pull the signal in, but at the time, it was worth it. I really enjoyed that station back in the day. I remeber them changing to 95.9 and we could no longer get them due to FM-96 in London.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-13975530.post-62525217811139943902007-05-26T09:05:00.000-04:002007-05-26T09:05:00.000-04:00WOW, never knew CD 106 and 96.7 WLLF were simulcas...WOW, never knew CD 106 and 96.7 WLLF were simulcasters!

106.1 doesnt really make it over the border too well, so that makes sense.

WNCD and WBBG swapped dial positions in September 2000.
They sort of dropped 'The Wolf' for a bit and were simply CD 93-3, I believe it was in 2004 that they re-branded as "93-3 NCD"

Think they'll be any changes with Spatz at the helm? "The Wolf" branding has become very popular with the younger leaning country music format. Erie has it with WTWF "93.9 The Wolf." I recall listening to WNCD when they were @ 106.1 and simulcasted with 96.7 in Mercer, Pa. Their calls were & still are "WLLF", now an AC station called "The River."Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
