Former Personality Back On The Air In East Liverpool

OMW hears that former WOHI/1490 East Liverpool morning host Jim Martin has returned to a regular spot on the station.

Martin lost his long-time morning drive show on the station when it changed format to ESPN Radio, the same change made by other Keymarket/Forever AM stations in Steubenville and Wheeling WV (Bellaire OH). We hear that Martin's back on the air on WOHI in a different time slot - 10 AM to 1 PM weekdays. Martin's new program started on Monday.

After he left WOHI, the former veteran Youngstown radio/TV personality (WFMJ) did some fill-in and part-time work on Cumulus standards WSOM/600 Salem.

PBRTV links its visitors to this Beaver County Times story about Keymarket moving its East Liverpool outlets and its Ellwood City "Pickle" FM to a new location ...

We noted that after we wrote the item...

And we'll assume Mr. Martin is making the trek to Center Township PA, unless we hear otherwise.

By the way, this also via PBRTV, is what another Ohio paper is reporting (I suspect you saw this), with a rather ironic callsign ...

I don't know how long Jim Martin and local programming will remain on WOHI. So far the local programming that has been on has been interviews with local politicians, some very bad music, and the once popular "Swap Shop" appears to have lost some callers. Also, a show called "Ask the Attorney" which starts tomorrow may be of questionable value. With neither local personalities out in the community and now the actual station moving out of the community, I cannot believe the local programming as it exists now will continue much longer.
