WTAM Afternoon Co-Host Out

We don't have a lot of details, but we've asked around...and as we hinted in an earlier note, OMW hears that WTAM/1100 afternoon drive co-host Kim Mihalik is indeed no longer with the station, due to budgetary reasons.

We weren't in town when she joined the station in the mid-90's, but Mihalik joined chief afternoon motormouth Mike Trivisonno after winning a station contest...and had no previous radio experience.

She's since become comfortable on the air next to Triv, and occasionally provided much needed "counterbalance" to the Boys Club of Triv, sports anchor Mike Snyder, and producers Paul Rado and Marty "Big Daddy" Allen. The pairing was considered so successful that Clear Channel sister talker WKBN/570 Youngstown brought in WNCD/93.3's Casey Malone to co-host afternoons with veteran station talker Ron Verb, who was hosting solo until that point.

OMW doesn't even want to think what Triv's show will be like without at least one co-host who doesn't eat on the air and ogle women, but we digress...

Thanks for the tip.

So, she got on by winning a contest. That was quite clear, as the entire show sounds like amateur hour. It is a waste of four useful hours on a strong station.

who cares she was hot, then got fat, thats why she is gone.

How could you not get fat, with all the free food sponsors regularly deliver to the station?
I mainly listen to WTAM for the traffic reports. I get irritated when Triv constantly interrupts to make snide remarks to the traffic announcer. If those interns were smart, they'd record the shows and sue the station later for harrasment.

It's. About. Time.

She sucked.

Kim was so much better than this new amateur Allison. She sounds like she is afraid to use her voice. At least Kim had concrete opinions and life experience. WTAM lost a good sidekick. With Kim on the show there was balance and humor. It was a talk show.

Kim was a "hole". Hole's always ruin good male banter to only serve as an "equalizer". Too bad they waited this long.

I think that Kim was a hugh talent on the show. They lost a quick witted, intelligent female that provided banter with the "boys". She is sorely missed, and the station made a hugh mistake letting her go. I can't stand to listen to Triv alone, and the new sidekick might as well not even have a voice. Bad move by WTAM.

Kim was the only reason I listened to that idiot Trivosanno. She had more going for her than they knew. WTAM did her a favor by releasing her from that mindless, opinionated, shallow "host".
