Rumors are about to turn to reality in Columbus.
AllAccess confirms that Dispatch hot AC WBNS-FM/97.1 "Mix 97.1" will flip in about an hour to a simulcast of sports sister station WBNS/1460...the new station to be known as "97.1 The Fan".
OMW hears unconfirmed rumors that the move has already resulted in the dismissal of the entire (we're told) "Mix" FM staff.

Their running music into commerical breaks (where the jock would normally backsell) so I would say the staff is 'out in the cold'

looks like this happened as of 3pm today.
Just made the switch - played an Ohio State medley - followed by the new ID.
no mention of 1460 in the liners at all, makes me think that Dispatch Radio has another plan for 1460 after the word gets out..
Could we see 1460 pick up some of the talk that left 1230 with their flip to Fox Sports and even possibly Ed or Steph? Ed and steph on 1460 would make some progressive talk fans happy...
