BREAKING NEWS: Carole Chandler Returns To WKYC Part-Time

A former WKYC/3 mainstay is returning to "Channel 3 News".

WKYC senior director Frank Macek reports on his "Director's Cut" blog this afternoon that former morning news co-anchor Carole Sullivan is back at the local NBC affiliate on a part-time basis, working as a reporter two days a week (Tuesday and Wednesday, starting May 15th).

"Channel 3 News" viewers first knew her as Carole Chandler, before the morning anchor married football coach Mike Sullivan and changed her on-air name. She left WKYC when her husband took a job coaching at Western Michigan University.

With his return to Cleveland as a member of the Cleveland Browns staff, Carole has been back in town, and the speculation on her return to local TV has been constant...

Poor Kim Wheeler. As a viewer, I thought she was fine in the morning show mix, but I could never figure out the news director's plan. It seemed like each day there was another line-up - same people basically but in a different combination. How much Carole Sullivan wants to work with a new baby I think remains to be seen.

How exciting we can have the giggle twins back on WKYC With Carole and Holly. The person I feel sorry for is John Anderson if that happens. How could anyone stand to work in between those two?

Solution for Channel 3 mornings put Hollie on weekends and put Jacque Smith on News and have Betsy Kling do the weather. That way we are not subjected to constant giggling for two straight hours.

Morning news is designed specifically for giggles and fluff.

Besides, it looks like Barbara Gauthier has a death grip on the seat next to Mr. Anderson, and she's pretty even keel, so I don't think that you have to worry about a giggle O.D.

Barbara is good. Jaque Smith would do fine as well.

Hollie? Eye candy! She can laugh all she wants!!
Although, Betsy isn't so bad either!

I also agree that Kim Wheeler did a fine job on the morning show. I thought the team meshed well.

I think Barbara is one of the most distinct and capable anchors on that station. I'd really like to see her remain in the morning drive co-chair. She's a solid anchor.

Barbara Go-Shay is the best thing Channel 3 News Today has going for it. With the exception of Pat Butler.

Please. Who is scheduling TV these days. I have beefs with all four newscasts. Centering in on WKYC. Don't bring Carole back and while you are at it find another place for Hollie Strano. I would prefer Betsy Kling who is the station's BEST meterologist and delivers the best forecast of any station. Jaquie Smith would round out the morning show. I like Barbara Gauthier but not as a morning show host. No chemistry with John Anderson who should stay.

Yes put Carole Chandler back on Q104 as a DJ. She cannot get through a news story without adding a comment or a laugh. She makes Kim Mihalik look talented.

I did like Carole on the radio.

Think Mark Nolan was drinking last night before the 6pm news?
Boy was he out of it!!

I would like to see HIM replaced by Betsy Kling and giving HER the chief meterologist role. She is the best forecaster in the city. Friendly, has her own style and delivers a direct forecast minus the self serving you get from Hollie and Mark. The guy on the weekend weather? He should be a Wal-Mart greeter.

Hollie just sits there and giggles the whole time. Who is the person that thinks she is eye candy. You need a new pair of glasses. She is not attractive at all.
