OMW has confirmed that long-rumored changes are about to come to the on-air lineup of Good Karma sports talk WKNR/850.
The Cleveland sports outlet has been the subject of many rumors and much speculation since Good Karma boss Craig Karmazin announced he was buying the station, a transaction which recently closed. Karmazin also owns sister sports outlet WWGK/1540 "Cleveland's ESPN Radio 1540".
We don't have many details.
All we're told is that some sort of lineup change is in the works beginning as soon as next Monday, and that Mr. Karmazin himself is expected to announce the changes on afternoon drive host Kenny Roda's show later this week - Friday, is what we hear.
You can draw your own conclusion about what those changes might be. We've certainly provided enough speculation, and there have been enough on-air indications that may - or may not - turn into reality next week...

romIs Greg Brinda finally gone for good from WKNR? We won't have to listen to him anymore!
Yeah but from the sounds of it we will still be stuck with Pittsburgh Steelers Roda. Clean house at WKNR and give us all new hosts! I don't mean Brinda,Roda,BSK, Ronnie"Slam" Duncan. Give us someone different with a "fresh" perspective on sports.
On Les Levine's show yesterday, he mentioned that Craig Karmazin would be on Les's show next Wednesday. It would seem to me then that Les will be part of the line-up, or why else would he be on his show, when you know that Les would like to be part of WKNR.
Bring back Les and the How Come Quickies and the Coveted 5pm hour! Bring back Pat McCabe too.
no brinda and no roda would be great, but i guess we can't get greedy... i hope they leave rome where he is ( i know that sometimes politics make that difficult) but rome does do his tv show on espn, so that may be good for a guy that owns espn radio locally... if we get les back on the radio at a reasonable hour (during work) that would be a big step for cleveland sports radio..
The station needs a major overhaul, it still sounds like a college station. format is awful, liners and promos and show opens and closes are horrendous.
Pure speculation based on nothing, but I bet Levine goes into AMD, and Brinda, Rome, and Roda stay put.
Last time LL had a regular radio gig it was AMD. The now-silent WATJ 1560 promoted his coming for about six weeks, and then dropped him after he was on for about 2 weeks.
Why would you put Levine in morning drive and keep Brinda? Someone?Anyone? Why would you keep Greg Brinda?
