Other WKNR Shoe Drops

Good Karma sports WKNR/850 Cleveland has officially announced the latest series of lineup changes.

As reported by the Cleveland Plain Dealer yesterday, WMJI/105.7-WMMS/100.7 sports director Mark "Munch" Bishop leaves Clear Channel for "ESPN 850 WKNR"'s afternoon drive post.

Afternoon drive host Kenny Roda gets bumped 3 hours, and will take the 6-9 PM slot recently occupied by former mid-morning host Greg Brinda.

Brinda loses a regular, daily show, but will now front the station's "10th Inning" Cleveland Indians postgame show.

You might remember that "10th Inning" was done by Brinda after earlier "cost cutting" moves by former owner Salem first knocked him out of 9-noon, to be replaced by now-SportsTime Ohio host Bruce Drennan...then, of course, Drennan's legal problems forced the station to replace him with - Brinda.

The other big announcement concerns the addition of former Cleveland Cavaliers TV voice Michael Reghi to the WKNR team. Reghi will become permanent host of the station's "Wine and Gold Post Game Show" covering the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Bishop, Reghi, Brinda and Good Karma boss Craig Karmazin all join current WKNR afternoon driver Kenny Roda this afternoon at three. We hear Karmazin is out buying more microphones for the sparsely equipped WKNR studio...well, we assume he is with five people in the studio this afternoon...

I wouldn't say Brinda is losing a daily show, as the Tribe plays every night.

What CK is doing is bringing in familiar names and phasing out the OCB contingent.

It now looks like guys like Bender, Catan, and Karolvec will be "beat repoters" for the 3 pro teams and Bokenyi for OSU.

Makes you look big time to have "beat reporters".

Watch CK bring in Chuck Booms in some capacity.

I am disappointed that Kenny is being moved to the 6 - 9 p.m. timeslot. I liked listening to him on the way home.

I am not a big "Munch" Fan at all. Other than that I like Brinda doing the Indians post-game and Reghi doing the Cavs postgame. I am sure the next announcment will have something to do with the Browns, both pre-game and post-game. Thank god Bob Karolvec and Neil Bender will be off the air, just un-listenable. Catan and Bokenyi are not bad. All and all not bad, still wish Cleveland had better sports talk or at the very least another station with sports talk.

Well Brinda is getting bumped farther and father down. We can only hope the next move for Greg Brinda and Kenny Roda is out the door. Bout time someone different was given a talk show on WKNR. I hope they give Michael Reghi the 6-9pm slot and 10th inning and then send Brinda and Roda out the door. Enough of those two already.

Bring Geoff Sindelar back too, I need to know how much by Kenny Lofton bobble head is worth

tCraig Karmazin,
Why would you not dump the old guard off your station? Get rid of the excess baggage on WKNR Kenny Roda and Greg Brinda. Start new Craig! Brinda and Roda are the reason the station was in the bottom of the ratings.

Here is what I would do with WKNR. #1 get rid of the clowns in the morning Tweedledee and Tweedledum(Mike/Mike) I prefer Steve Czaban from 6am-10am
Stay with Tony Rizzo from 10am-12pm
Stay with Jim Rome from 12pm-3pm
Munch from 3-6pm and Michael Reghi in the evening from 6-9pm and also have him do the 10th inning and Cavs post game shows. Get rid of Kenny and Greg from the Cablevision WKNR the station needs a fresh approach. Maybe Greg and Kenny can go be Sports update guys on WTAM for Kevin Keane. For some reason Craig K is afraid to dump the Dean and the Steelers fan.

Kevin Keane sucks. Unlistenable.

knr needs as many 'new' old white honky hosts as cc sabathia needs some more new chins.

Good lord, Karmazin sounds like he's 7 years old. He makes Goldhammer sound like Lou Rawls!

Kenny Lofton bobblehead??? Is it signed?

Roda and Brinda may be under contract, they may disappear when the contracts expire?? Why get rid of them, continue to pay them and also pay new talent? It all comes down to $$$$$

I'm impressed with what's hes doing.

Is he taking Beer Money yet?

As long as we're getting frank, pointed, no-holds-barred, interesting discussion....and not silly, frilly, nonsensical "topic of the day" crapola...I guess I don't care who's talkin' anymore.

Oh, and hey, CK, how's that Sat. morning Golf Show goin' for ya? I haven't tuned in a minute, and used to listen EVERY week.

P.S. Is Munch Bishop really the answer here? Who can take Mr. WMMS seriously as a sports authority?

Munch is better than Kenny or Greg Brinda. As for Craig he is just using his dad's money to run the station.

I thought Bender sounded good.

Reghi sounds like a bad impersonation of Ted Baxter.

Craig Karmazin - they name is Butch Davis.

Mark 'Munch' Bishop? - Laughable to say the least.

So much for hoping KNR would get new life - what a joke.

I think the total output of KNR2 is as many watts as the old Connecticut School of Broadcasting station in Independence about 3 watts.

Get rid of the boring, stale crabby Brinda along with his sidekick PISSBURG Roda!! Maybe he can get a job covering his hometown Steelers!!! Yes to MUNCH BISHOP anything is better than what we have except for that fat blow hard on 1100!!!
