BREAKING NEWS: Robin Benzle Exits At WDOK

No, you weren't hearing things if you heard Robin Benzle's last show on CBS Radio Cleveland AC outlet WDOK/102.1.

Robin indeed said goodbye to her post alongside WDOK's Trapper Jack this morning, opting to make her on-air exit a single day event.

WDOK program director and OMW reader Scott Miller comments on his departing morning co-host...

"Robin has done a superb job in her tenure in a most critical daypart. Her wit and humor along with her timely cooking and lifestyle tips have been effective and fun to hear."

As far as what's next for her, Scott tells OMW...

"Robin loves to cook (obviously), travel and write. The next chapter in her life will include those things, and an opportunity to spend more time with her family."

He tells us that Robin will continue working as a spokesperson for "many key WDOK clients"...

Soooo.... did she "exit" or "leave".

Exiting is what happens when blown out.

Leaving is of your own accord for future endeavors.

Robin's departure was very sudden. Almost TOO sudden for me to believe that it's not related to her acknowledgment that she has skin cancer.

I do wish her well. And I hope that I'm wrong. But something tells me that I'm not.

My guess is that she left on her own. If you're getting blown out, stations don't allow you on the air to say goodbye. You just disapear.

WDOK seems to be one of the classier stations (if there is one) and if I'm wrong, they at least did a good thing and let her have a last show.

I'm sticking with it was her choice. With her recent bout with cancer etc., I can see her leaving for personel reasons.

Skin cancer? Was/is it melanoma? I hadn't heard about it.
