CBS Radio AC WDOK/102.1 Cleveland is often the model of radio stability, so we don't usually have anything to say about them. Well, until now.
AllAccess reports that WDOK afternoon driver Chris Fox "exits". The shift will be filled, at least on an "interim" basis, by local radio veteran and WDOK part-timer Bob McKay.
OMW is reminded that McKay did afternoon drive at Clear Channel hot AC WMVX/106.5 "Mix 106.5" until about five years ago.
More as it develops...

Not that I doubt the folks here at OMW, but didn't McKay also handle nights for an extended time at WMVX aka WLTF? I seem to remember the gimmick show "Love, Lust or Disgust?" With a psychic or love coach...something?
L,L, or D was a Q104 gimmick done by a different guy.
McKay did a show called "Lovelite" on what was then WLTF "Lite Rock 106 1/2".
Bob basically did the Delilah thing and play love song requests.
Bob is a better fit for DOK anyway--older guy, been here forever, did the love song show thing before, fits in better with the Trapper/Nancy Alden/Delilah roster.
Fox would have been a better fit at younger skewing sister station Q104.
Rover's gonna be avaliable soon. Maybe WDOK can hire the RMG crew to do afternoon drive.
I can see it now...
Dieter does a stunt involving a jock strap, a car battery, and jumper cables, after words playing Celine Dion's latest hit.
Trivisonno drops TV segment for fear of saying something wrong
Posted by Julie E. Washington April 11, 2007 18:31PM
WTAM 1100 talker Mike Trivisonno announced Wednesday that he was ending his segments on WOIO Channel 19 with Sharon Reed this week.
Trivisonno said his television segments are a casualty of the new broadcast climate in the wake of the Don Imus controversy. CBS Radio and MSNBC suspended Imus' morning talk show for two weeks following his recent reference to members of the Rutgers University women's basketball team in a racially derogatory way.
Trivisonno said his radio bosses met with him and made it clear that he would lose his radio job if he said anything offensive on the air.
His show has courted controversy and offended listeners for years; recently he declared April "White History Month" and mocked black leaders.
"I don't need another venue to watch what I say," Trivisonno told Reed in the 5:30 p.m. Channel 19 segment, which linked the WTAM and Channel 19 studios. "If I slip, I'm done, that's the way it is."
Trivisonno's afternoon show on WTAM isn't affected.
Lately, it seems as if WDOK has develop something of a Christian-station lean. (Trapper, Delilah, John Tesh).
Is it possible that Chris Fox didn't fit with that style?
John Tesh is heard on WFHM, not WDOK.
Speaking of WFHM, what happened to Dan Deely? I haven't heard him on the station, and there's no mention of him.
Dan Deely would be a great fit over at WDOK
Josh Booth now does PMD at The Fish.
Deely still has a Sunday Morning show on WFHM, and does tons of voice over work with all 3 of Salem's stations (Fish, WHK, WHKW)
I've heard the Sunday morning show, but I don't hear Dan's voice on the show. His e-mail is also taken off of "Contact Us" page on the Fish's website.
I remember seeing a few weeks ago that John Connor was out at WQAL.
Could he be headed across the hall????
Dan is still listed as the host of the Sunday show, so until further notice, assume he's still doing it.
While he doesn't come across like a geezer, you forget Dan has been doing radio in this town for nearly 30 years.
Remember, he was the 105.7 morning man pre-Majic and pre-Lanigan, and spent a decade plus at Q104 before going to the Fish in '01, when it was first established.
Maybe he's at the point at his life where he doesn't need or want a daily gig anymore, and he's happy enough coming in one day a week, doing a 4 hour show and recording a bunch of voice-overs.
Don't know this for fact, but it wouldn't surprise me.
Dan Deely is a great guy. I hope he stays on at the fish
Deely did PM drive at WMJI after Lanigan arrived.
He would co-host with Jimmy Malone for about 2 years to groom Malone in the ways of radio. Then Malone went to AM drive with JL.
As Lanigan often says he "lifted Malone out of the comedy club gutter".
I just bought a 1987 "Knuckleheads in the News" book off eBay. That was the first year they started doing NITN.
Its time for Knuckleheads in the News to retire.
