BREAKING NEWS: "Triv TV" Shutting Off

Clear Channel talk WTAM/1100 afternoon driver Mike Trivisonno says he's giving up his "Triv TV" segment on Raycom Media CBS affiliate WOIO/19's "19 Action News" this week. Cleveland Plain Dealer media columnist Julie Washington has more on the PD's Entertainment Blog.

In the item, Washington says Triv blames the current broadcast climate, particularly the well-publicized trouble former Cleveland radio star Don Imus brought upon himself recently with rather poorly chosen words.

Triv made the announcement on today's "Triv TV" segment with "Action News" co-anchor Sharon Reed, saying he "didn't need another venue" to be careful about his wording.

Yes, we're skeptical, but for now we'll have to take the WTAM talker and frequent eater at his word.

For the record, we've never seen a moment of "Triv TV", and for that matter, we haven't heard a full 10 minutes of his radio show in roughly three months...

A little off topic, but what happened to WBNX-DT? It's been off the air since last Friday. Is the station having problems or is it just my antenna or tuner? The other digital channels work fine.

Triv also said he didn't get paid to do the segment.

It all sounds a bit strange.

Triv TV was 'eating' into his Mr. Chicken time.

I wonder if Triv caught grief for being on channel 3 on Tuesday. He was being interviewed about the Imus story.

OMW never saw the Triv TV segment, that goes for most people in Northeast Ohio. Triv TV didn't do a thing for 19NoActionNews like Triv claimed it would, and 19 prayed it might. Triv can give all the lame excuses he wants...he needs to admit it was an outright failure.

OMW hasn't listened to Triv in three months, that goes for a growing amount of radio listeners in Northeast Ohio as well. His show is in decline and needs to turn it around or he'll be off of TAM sooner than later.

Will Kim have the last laugh?

Never saw the TV segment, and never watch the tabloid-TV channel trash.

Rarely listen to WTAM until Triv is OFF THE AIR, because it's just one commercial, live endorsement, or traffic report after another.

I don't care to hear about the product that eliminates SMELLS every five minutes. But if we spray it around WTAM studios from 3-7pm, guess whose radio show would disappear???

He dumped the only intelligent person on the show who could complete a a sentence properly with out having to have food in their mouth or giggle every other word.
Soon he'll see what a beached whale looks like.

I used to call it "Fat F*ck TV."

You can catch some of the Triv TV segments on YouTube.

If Kim Mihalik was the talented one on that show then you have lowered the talent bar on radio about 2000 feet.

Lets recap, Roger Brown didn't last long on 19, Triv didn't last long on 19...Fiction News continues to try ideas that fail. Honest, Fair, Last Place Everywhere.

Is this a surprise to anyone? Has Triv looked in the mirror lately? Not exactly a face you want to see on TV.

I wonder if Channel 19 will finally get a clue? That crap they pass off as news and news anchors is nonsense. If I wanted that type of "news" I'll read it in one of those tabloid magazines.

19 Fiction News it what it should be called. When they were fighting with Jane Campbell and city hall and showed one of the reporters tugging on a locked door and claiming that city hall has locked them out.....what they neglected to mention is that it was after 5 pm; the door they were tugging on was a side door and most city offices were closed and employees gone for the day. And if they want to sit there and call people that are arrested "scumbags", "slimeballs", "perverts", etc. then maybe they should scroll "commentary, does not contain actual news content" across the bottom of the screen. They like playing judge, jury and executioner, wonder if they have ever apologized on air to someone that was found not guilty after 19 has slandered them.
