We neglected to put this one up earlier in the week since we got so busy, so...
A belated Happy Birthday to WARF/1350 Akron "Radio Free Ohio" midday host Joe Finan, who turned 80 on Thursday.
That's right, 80. We missed his show on Thursday, but we'll assume there were lots of jokes about calling the fire department for all the candles on his birthday cake. Hope you had that fire extinguisher at the ready, WARF program director and Finan sidekick Jerry Mullins...

The average lifespan of a male in the USA is currently 77-81 years.
Thank God he's living on borrowed time and it's only a matter of time until Northeastern Ohio is rid of that old buzzard.
Don't seem that long ago I was listening to him on WIXY as the morning man. That was 1968.
why do you speak so ill of the man.
you may not agree with all of his views, which i also do not but i find his show interesting and much more enjoyable than hush bimbo's commercial for W and the RNC
There is absolutely no excuse for wishing Mr. Finan ill as the first poster did..Interesting that the person hid behind an "anonymous" name.Though I probably wouldnt agree with Joe on most things..I respect him as one of the last broadcasting icons in NE Ohio..He has been on the ait, either radio or TV for the better part of the last 55 years or more..An incredible record..I salute him for that..
As long as Joe is alive...'Everything is FINAN dandy."
Though I don't necessarily agree with the first comment, I do have to agree with their tone insomuch as the comment perfectly mimics Mr. Finan's treatment of many callers or public figures that he doesn't agree with.
Sure, in comparison to Howie, Joe treated some regular callers such as "Jason" with some respect, when it came to even mildly conservative callers, he hurled nothing but insults at them many times and the vitriol he showed makes him no better than the conservative hosts an earlier comment writer disparaged.
