BREAKING NEWS: Luczak Exits WKNR

In our "not like it was any surprise" department:

Radio and Records Online reports that long-time Salem sports WKNR/850 Cleveland program director Michael Luczak has left the building...in the wake of the station's recent takeover by Craig Karmazin's Good Karma Broadcasting.

Luczak says he's a "free agent" again, and looking for his "next broadcast challenge"...

(cue sarcasm) does that mean new imaging is in store for WKNR?

Should I give him a job?

Only if you want your station to fail!!!

So long Michael, good luck with "free agency."

Not a big surprise that Michael is gone,Salem still needs to fill some holes however. The Fish needs a PD and scuttlebut has it going to Len Houser. WHK/THE WORD needs a PD SINCE LUCZAK was PD for 1420,it could go to Erroll Dengler since he was at WKNR as GM or OM. Unless Erroll ends up at HBC he does have ties to THE BUZZARDS from the past.

All of Salem's stations need PD's now. Note that Mike's e-mail has been removed from WHK's website due to his dual departure.

If Len Howser got promoted, it wouldn't be a shock - he was PD for the old WZLE/104.9-Lorain (pre Kiss-FM) back in the mid 90's. The only question is, does he also take WHKW duties... and WHK as well?

There are some talented folks at WKNR who hopefully will get picked up by the new owner. Steve Dole and Joe Sweeny to name a few.

Steve Dole is a pros pro, and should definitely get the nod. The others there? Not so much...

Mike Catan is the best talk show host on the station
