We heard this one as a rumor a while back, but it's just been confirmed on the airwaves of Clear Channel talk WTAM/1100.
Reporter Levon Putney, who's been with the Cleveland station for six years, is heading to New York City. OMW hears he'll be joining the reporting staff of CBS Radio's "flagship" all-news outlet in the Big Apple, WCBS/880.
Putney joined WTAM in August 2000, fresh off of stints in Elmira NY and out of college in Columbia MO. He also has TV experience, working for NBC affiilate KOMU/8 in that latter city. The station is a commercial outlet operated by the University of Missouri-Columbia, and employs students.
His now-pulled WTAM bio says Putney is a native of Houston...

Good for him! He deserves it. Good on-air skills.
