As first reported, exclusively, here on OMW, nearly a week ago:
The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports that the Cleveland Browns have named FOX Sports Net Ohio as the team's local cable TV home.
The PD reports that FSN Ohio will air a daily training camp show at 7 PM, hosted by the network's Michael Reghi and former quarterback Mike Pagel, along with contributions by Browns linebacker Andra Davis. FSN Ohio will also air coach Romeo Crennel's weekly press conferences live, and will have a weekly Browns roundtable show...both starting in September.
The deal does not include pre-season game broadcasts, as the NFL requires that those broadcasts air on over-air stations. The team is negotiating with WKYC/3, WEWS/5 and WJW/8 for those rights, as reported earlier.
FSN Ohio is rapidly moving to shore up programming in the wake of losing the Cleveland Indians to the team-owned SportsTime Ohio. As reported by Plain Dealer sports/media columnist Roger Brown, the network is widely expected to make its relationship with the Cleveland Cavaliers exclusive starting in the 2008-2009 season...
